Intimate Cabin Wedding In North Georgia

Couple Getting Married at Cabin

Hi there, and welcome to another beautiful love story. This time, an intimate cabin wedding in North Georgia! Trisha and Joel’s wedding day in the North Georgia Mountains was filled with humble intimate moments, laughs, exploring, pizza, and family fun. Their day encapsulated everything that I love about intimate cabin weddings!

How to structure an intimate cabin wedding

When Trisha and Joel began planning their wedding, they knew they wanted to have a wedding with intentionality, authenticity, and small moments. They had been to several weddings over the past few years and saw how stressed everyone was on their wedding day. Trisha and Joel did not want that same stress, so they opted to have an intimate cabin wedding tucked away in the North Georgia Mountains.

Trisha and Joel have a love for the mountains, the outdoors, and travel, so getting a cabin in Blue Ridge, Georgia was a no brainer for their wedding day! They wanted a wedding day that was filled with family, fun, low stress, and beautiful scenery.

In the planning stages for their wedding, Trisha and Joel told me they wanted to keep things very simple and low stress for everyone. I was excited since that is how I operate on most wedding days anyways, even keel and keeping you comfortable throughout the whole day.

Trisha and Joel structured their cabin wedding to be low stress.

To keep things low stress, the day was structured like this:

  • Getting ready

  • First Look

  • Ceremony Overlooking the Mountains

  • Family Portraits and Champagne Toast

  • Exploring the Toccoa River and Portraits

  • Pizza and Fun with Family

  • Lake Blue Ridge for Sunset Portraits

Getting Ready At The Cabin

Getting ready photos are some of the purest moments to document. I love it! While getting ready, the excitement for the day is high and things are starting to feel real. The anticipation that you are about to marry your best friend is at an all time high. That’s why I love documenting getting ready photos – all the feels.

When getting ready, I always recommend couples leave more time for it than they think. You want to start your day off in a relaxed manner, with plenty of time to be present and soak it all in before heading off to your wedding day.

First Look

One of the things Trisha and Joel were looking forward to the most on their wedding day was seeing each other for the first time. I knew we had to do a first look!

To really let the anticipation of seeing each other build, Trisha stood on the deck of the cabin while Joel stood below. One of the sweetest moments of this wedding day was when Joel was able to hear Trisha on the deck above him, but could not see her. He had one of the biggest and most genuine smiles on his face.

This is why I recommend first looks to most couples. First looks are often emotional and full of joy and excitement. First looks allow your stress and nerves to melt away when you realize you are exactly where you are supposed to be – with the person that makes you feel the most comfortable and alive.

Cabin Wedding Ceremony

Trisha and Joel chose to have their family get involved in their ceremony by having Trisha’s brother conduct the ceremony. This is a great way to get your family involved in your intimate wedding day! Trisha and Joel’s wedding ceremony was simple and beautiful.

One of the things I love about intimate wedding ceremonies is that you can choose which traditions you keep and which ones you want to leave in the dust. You can completely personalize your ceremony to honor you and your partner.
