Sitting on a summit long after everyone else had left.

When I started photographing weddings... I kept asking myself the same question.
Why couldn't a wedding feel like one of those days?
Not rushed. Not planned minute by minute. Not something you were trying to "get through."
I guess that's why I do this. Because if I can help two people walk away saying,
"That felt like one of our favorite days together."
Then we've done it right.

I didn't grow up dreaming about being a photographer. Honestly... I was just always chasing the same feeling.
The kind you notice after you've been outside for a while. When time slows down.
People always laugh when I tell them my career path: minister → engineer → hiking elopement photographer. Looking back, those jobs don't seem so random because I've always been drawn to people and moments that matter.
When my wife and I got married, we planned the wedding we thought we were supposed to have.
It was beautiful. But I still wish we'd worried less about expectations and spent more time simply being together.
That's why I do this.
Because I believe YOUR wedding should feel like one of your favorite days outside.

People think it's the mountains.
And don't get me wrong... I love a good summit. But the mountains aren't what make me pick up my camera.
It's the moment someone reaches for the other person's hand without thinking.
The laugh that happens because one of you slipped on the trail. The way you look at each other when you think nobody's paying attention.
Those tiny moments are my favorite part.
The beautiful overlooks are incredible. But they're never the reason I remember a wedding.
Years later, I remember the way you were with each other. That's what I'm always watching for.
Because the best photographs aren't really about the view.
They're about what happened while you were standing in it.
What inspires me
I'm probably not going to tell you how to stand. Or ask you to smile at the camera every five minutes.
Most of the day, you'll probably forget I'm even photographing. I'll point out the good light. Carry snacks. Keep an eye on the weather.
Tell you when it's worth slowing down... and when it's time to keep hiking.
I'm there when you need direction.
And I'm just as happy disappearing into the background when you don't. Because the best moments usually happen after everyone stops trying to create them.
My job isn't to run your wedding day.
It's to protect it. To keep things steady. To handle the logistics.
