When I’m on a trail, it’s never just about getting from point A to point B. It’s about slowing down and noticing the little things: the smell of pine, the way sunlight catches the edges of the mountains, the sound of the wind brushing past your ears. It’s about breathing deeper, feeling lighter, and seeing a little clearer.
Not rushed. But like you’re truly in it — feeling every step, taking in every view, holding each other’s hands a little tighter because you know this moment matters.
On the trail, you don’t remember every single mile marker… you remember the moments you stopped to laugh, the times you paused to catch your breath, the way the view hit you after a steep climb. I didn’t grow up dreaming about being a photographer. I was the kid who felt things deeply and noticed the stuff no one else did: the quiet moments, and the unspoken connections. That stayed with me.
Before I picked up a camera, I worked as an engineer. Then a minister. I’ve always been chasing purpose and people. It wasn’t until I stepped behind the lens that it clicked; this is where I’m meant to be. Walking with people through the big, beautiful, raw moments of their life. Helping them feel seen.
I know what it’s like to try to fit in, to play by the rules, to do what’s expected. I planned the traditional wedding. Felt the weight of pressure and performance. And I still look back wishing I’d honored what we really wanted - something slower, simpler, more us.
